Privacy Policy: what we collect and why

Who we are

We are the data controller for the information described here.

For anything in this policy, including access or deletion requests, write to sales@kubedlinks.com.

The short version

We count page views so we can see which languages and countries our visitors come from. That counting is anonymous: no cookie, no identifier, no way to single anyone out.

Anything beyond that — how long you spent on a page, how far you scrolled, which sections you read — is collected only if you agree. If you decline, the site works exactly the same and we simply do not collect it.

If you send us an enquiry, we keep what you typed so we can reply.

Analytics without consent

For every visit we increment a counter. One row per page, language, country, device class and day. We record:

• —The page address, for example /en or /de/blog
• —The language version you viewed
• —Your country — country only, never city or region
• —Whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop
• —The website that linked you here, if any — the domain only, never the full address

Why that needs no consent

Nothing in it identifies you. There is no cookie, nothing is read from or written to your device, no session identifier and no fingerprinting. Your visit is added to a number and is not recorded separately, so it cannot be singled out or reconstructed afterwards — not by us either.

We rely on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The interest is understanding which languages and countries to invest in. The impact on you is nil, because nothing about you is retained.

Analytics with your consent

If you accept analytics, we additionally record, for the duration of your visit:

• —A visit identifier, so pages viewed in one session can be connected
• —Time spent on a page and how far you scrolled
• —Which buttons and sections you interacted with, and your progress through the contact form
• —City and region, in addition to country
• —Your browser language, and the campaign parameters in the link you arrived through
• —Device, browser and operating system

How the visit identifier works

It is not a cookie and it is not stored on your device. It is calculated from a random value that we regenerate every day and never keep. Once that value changes, the identifier cannot be linked to anything before it — so within 24 hours at most, the data stops being connectable to you by any means available to us.

We never collect your IP address

Your country is derived by our server infrastructure before our application receives the request. The IP address itself is never read by our code, never stored in any database, never written to any log file, and never hashed or kept in any transformed form. Our web server is configured with a logging format that omits it.

When you contact us

The enquiry form asks for your name, work email and your message, and optionally your website, the service you are interested in and your niche. We keep this to answer you. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

We also record the language version and country the enquiry came from, and any campaign parameters, so we know which marketing works.

Ticking the consent box covers replying to that enquiry. It does not sign you up to anything, and we will not add you to a mailing list on the strength of it.

Cookies

Two, both strictly necessary, both only recording a choice you made. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie and no third-party cookie. See the Cookie Policy.

Who else sees your data

Our hosting provider and our database provider, both under a data processing agreement and both hosted in the EU. That is the complete list. We do not sell data, do not share it with advertisers, and run no third-party tracking of any kind.

How long we keep things

Deletion is performed by a scheduled job, not left to anyone remembering.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion, and you can object to or restrict our use of it. Write to sales@kubedlinks.com and we will answer within 30 days.

One practical note, offered plainly rather than as an evasion: consented analytics data is deleted after 90 days and its identifier becomes unlinkable within a day, so for most analytics requests there is genuinely nothing left to return. Enquiries are a different matter and we can always retrieve or delete those.

You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

Withdrawing consent

Use the privacy settings link in the footer. Withdrawing stops collection immediately and deletes the consented data already recorded for your visit. It is exactly as easy as giving consent was.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect, we will ask for consent again rather than relying on the old answer. The date at the top shows the current version.
